Here are some ideas for quick and easy meals that can be made in just a few minutes. All these recipes can be prepared in under 30 minutes, some in much less.
There are basically two types of fast meals - those made from scratch and those made from leftovers. Both serve to get a good, often hot meal on the table in minutes.
Here's one that takes only 25 minutes:
Rice and Chicken in One
Prepare rice according to package directions (in a microwave is a great way to make sure it doesn't burn)!
While the rice is cooking, sauté onions and mushrooms. If you have leftover chicken, cut into small pieces and add to the onions and mushrooms. You can add pieces of broccoli (optional) and corn (optional).
When the rice is ready, place the rice on a serving plate and top with the chicken and onions mixture.
This one also takes about 30 minutes and kids love it!Spaghetti and Franks - A Family Favorite
Cook a package of spaghetti according to the directions on the package.
While the spaghetti is cooking, sauté sliced pieces of frankfurters and diced onions in oil. When the onions and frankfurters are ready, add tomato sauce and simmer for about 10 minutes on a low flame.
Drain and rinse the spaghetti and then pour it into a nice serving dish. Spoon the meat and tomato sauce mixture over the spaghetti and serve. This is great served with garlic bread.Note
You can replace the frankfurters with sliced/diced leftover chicken for yet another great, quick meal.
