Kosher Meals are all about family. This meal was sent in by Ahuva from Jerusalem who says this is her traditional Friday night meal with her family and as many guests as can fit around the table:

First course: Salmon on Lettuce

Take one salmon fillet. Sprinkle with olive oil and chopped onions and bake for approximately 35 minutes in 350 degree oven until done. Serve on individual plates garnished with strips of lettuce.

Second course: Chicken/Turkey Soup

In a large pot, add 5 quarts of water, 1 turkey neck chopped into small pieces, 2 pieces of chicken, 2 carrots sliced thin, 1 onion cut in half, 1 butternut quash chopped into small pieces, 2 tsp. of salt, 1/4 tsp. of pepper, 1 tsp onion powder, 2 cloves of garlic chopped fine. Bring to a boil and then lower flame and let simmer for 3 hours.

Main course: Chicken and Roasted Vegetables

In a large roast pan, peel and cut 5 potatoes, chop 2 onions, chop 2 sweet potatoes, slice 3 carrots, and fresh or canned mushrooms. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup canola oil, salt, paprika and onion powder. Place chicken pieces (whole chicken cut in eight pieces or chicken legs cut in half) on top of the vegetables. Cover and bake in oven for 1.5 hours at 375 degrees until done. Uncover for the last 10 minutes.

Dessert: Chocolate Wonders!

This is an amazing dessert - fast and easy and always a winner in my house!

Take one chocolate cake mix and prepare according to package details (but add 1 instant chocolate pudding mix to make it richer).

Beat 2 containers of pareve whipped cream until light and fluffy. Mix in 1 package of instant chocolate pudding mix and 1 cup of confectioner's sugar.

Melt 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 cup of white chocolate chips separately in a microwave and pour them into plastic plates and let them cool in the refrigerator. When cool, use a potato peeler or a grater to make strips for decoration.

To put the cake together:

- Place the cake on a nice serving dish.

- Scoop the chocolate whipped cream mix on top (not on the sides) of the cake - make it thick - about 1 cm. thick.

- Sprinkle the top of the frosting with the chocolate pieces.
